Livin' on the Prayer - Bonjovi Cover!
This is one we "acoustified" for fun. We were messing about trying to get a half decent recording quality before Chrimbo. I need to re-record the bongo to get it a bit tighter, but otherwise we were quite pleased with this one.
We only spent about 4 hours on this one. The dodgy drum sound is an SM57 stuck over some old african souvineer drum (which belongs to Marcus). Rode NTK for vocals. Guitar was a Freshman acoustic guitar, SM58 over right shoulder, and SM57 over 12th fret. All this patched into a Focusrite Saffire Pro then on into Cubase.
I'm still learning the ropes with all this, but it was fun! To save bordom we recorded it in several "parts", where I'd lay down a few minutes of guitar, then Lyns would do some vocals. We'd then cut and paste it all about in Cubase. We also messed about doing different vocal takes on several parts, and just picked the best ones.
